BANGKOK, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- About 41 villages in southern Thailand's Trang Province were declared disaster zone on Monday after a fire broke out at a rubber glove factory.

Trang governor Siriphat Patthakul said the black smoke spewed out from the factory posed threats to people's health and the province is mobilizing authorities and budgets to help the affected residents.

The fire reportedly started in early Sunday, engulfing a warehouse storing newly manufactured rubber gloves.

Local media said it took authorities about 14 hours to put out the blaze, with firefighters continuing to spray water on the files of gutted rubber gloves to prevent the fire from flaring up again in dry condition.

No injuries and deaths have been reported.

According to local reports, initial damages of the factory is estimated at over 100 million baht (about 3 million U.S. dollars).
