SEOUL, March 5 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has sent its athletic delegation list to South Korea for the upcoming Winter Paralympic Games slated to kick off later this week, Seoul's unification ministry said Monday.

Baik Tae-hyun, unification ministry spokesman, told a press briefing that the DPRK sent the list of athletic delegation Sunday through a communications channel in the truce village of Panmunjom.

The 20-member athletic delegation of the DPRK, including six athletes, will be headed by Jong Hyon, a vice chairman of the central committee of the Korean Federation of the Protection of the Disabled (KFPD).

The DPRK will dispatch a separate four-member delegation of the Paralympic Committee, led by Kim Mun-chol, the KFPD chairman.

The DPRK delegations will come via a land route to South Korea on Wednesday to participate in the Winter Paralympics scheduled for March 9-18 in South Korea's east county of PyeongChang.

The delegations planned to come back to the DPRK around March 15 after taking part in the cross-country skiing competitions on March 11 and March 14.
