    Ukrainian PM sees growing potential for partnership with China

    KIEV, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that he sees a growing potential for his country's partnership with China, the Ukrainian government press service said Tuesday.

    Groysman made the remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei.

    In the meeting, Groysman congratulated the Chinese people on the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, saying the areas of mutual interests between China and Ukraine are expanding.

    The two countries enjoy a potential to increase their annual trade to 10 billion U.S. dollars and push forward bilateral cooperation in agriculture, construction, infrastructure, energy and other sectors, the prime minister said.

    Groysman wished China a success in holding the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai next month, which will be attended by a delegation from Ukraine.

    According to Ukrainian statistics, China was Ukraine's top trading partner in the Asia-Pacific region and the second-largest trading partner in the world in 2017, with bilateral trade turnover amounting to 7.7 billion dollars.
