ISTANBUL, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that preparations for the delivery of Russian-made S-400 air defence systems are continuing and their loading works are in progress.

Speaking to the press in Istanbul prior to his departure for Bosnia Herzegovina, Erdogan said the S-400 missiles will be brought to Turkey by plane, as the Turkish Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are deciding on their locations.

Turkey's purchase of S-400 missiles from Russia has sparked threatened sanctions from the United States, but Erdogan said U.S. President Donald Trump spoke of no sanctions against Ankara after they met in Osaka, Japan late last month on the sidelines of a G20 summit.
