MINSK, June 8 (Xinhua) -- China's U-22 men's football team drew 1-1 with Belarus' U-21 team in a friendly held in Minsk on Saturday.
The friendly took place at the Belarus National Football Stadium, a China-aided project that was inaugurated on June 7. With a capacity of over 33,000, the stadium was nearly in full attendance.
The host came out strong after kickoff, using its home advantage to mount sustained pressure and win multiple corners, though it couldn't break the deadlock.
Nikita Baranok earned Belarus the lead shortly after halftime by converting a penalty, but Mutellip Iminqari's header helped China equalize in the 74th minute. ■
