HANGZHOU, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Alibaba's logistics arm, Cainiao, has said it will expand its "Global 5-Day Delivery" service to six more countries, namely Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, Hungary, Austria and Qatar, with the upgrade to be completed by the end of 2025.

Wan Lin, CEO of Cainiao, said the company has deepened cross-border partnerships with several major e-commerce platforms this year and is adding air freight capacity in Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Wan added that Cainiao is also replicating China's advanced supply chain practices overseas, upgrading warehouse standards -- and supporting both Chinese brands expanding abroad and international brands seeking growth in global markets.

Cainiao has reached a long-term strategic partnership with Qatar Airways Cargo, which will more than double weekly freight flights on core China-Europe routes. The company said the move would increase capacity, improve schedule reliability and provide more flexible shipping options for e-commerce platforms such as AliExpress.

"China is one of the world's most important trade partners and a core source of air freight demand," said Mark Drusch, chief cargo officer at Qatar Airways Cargo. He emphasized that the collaboration between the two companies will deliver efficient, high-quality global logistics services for customers.

Cainiao has been expanding its local express delivery network in nine key overseas markets -- including Spain, France, the United States and Mexico. Notably, since April, overseas parcel volumes from external merchants using Cainiao's local delivery services have surged by more than 200 percent, according to the company. ■
