  • U.S. gasoline price edges down last week

    WASHINGTON, Dec. 28 (Xinhua)-- The price of regular gasoline dropped across the United States last week, according to a report released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Friday.

    For the week ending Dec. 21, the U.S. average regular gasoline retail price dropped nearly 5 cents from last week to 2.32 U.S. dollars per gallon, which was 15 cents per gallon lower than the same period last year.

    For the West Coast area, which includes the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii, the price of gasoline fell 3 cents to 3.08 dollars per gallon.

    For the Rocky Mountain area, which includes the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Idaho, the price fell 9 cents to 2.49 dollars per gallon.

    For the Midwest area, which includes the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee, the price fell more than 5 cents to 2.08 dollars per gallon.

    For the Gulf Coast area, which includes the states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and New Mexico, the price decreased 5 cents to 1.98 dollars per gallon.

    For the East Coast area, which includes all other states close to the Atlantic Ocean, the price decreased nearly 6 cents to 2.3 dollars per gallon.
