BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) -- China's job market remained active after the Chinese New Year holiday as the economy showed signs of picking up.

Unique visitors on domestic online marketplace 58.com's mobile recruitment platform reported a 45-percent growth for Feb. 11-20 period year on year, according to a report released by the country's largest classified advertisements platform.

The report also showed growing interest in changing jobs, as resume applications also rose nearly 40 percent year on year during this period.

Data from 58.com revealed that Beijing had the strongest demand for workers after the Spring Festival holiday, followed by Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Hefei, an eastern Chinese city, posted the fastest growth in recruitment thanks to its pro-employment policies released at the end of 2018.

Ordinary workers and technicians were the most wanted professions, indicating recovery of the manufacturing sector, the report showed.

Salespeople came the second in recruitment demand, reflecting growing business expansion plans of many firms.

Official data showed Thursday that market demand in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors is gaining momentum, with rising February sub-indices for new orders and production and operation expectations.

58.com, also known as China's Craigslist, raked in 13.13 billion yuan (about 1.9142 billion U.S. dollars) in revenue last year, up 30.5 percent year on year, the company announced Friday. Enditem
