LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) - All mandatory evacuations have been lifted for the Horseshoe brush fire in Riverside County, U.S. California on Sunday, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The fire broke out on Saturday evening and quickly consumed 200 acres (about 0.8 square kilometers) of brush near the rural community of Juniper Flats in Riverside County, authorities said.

The fire has chewed through at least 490 acres of brush and 20 percent contained as of Sunday noon, said Riverside County Fire Department.

"All residents may return home. Please be safe travelling and yield to fire equipment and personnel working in the area," the fire department tweeted.

Fire officials announced evacuation orders Saturday evening for a community of San Jacinto, near Cottonwood Avenue and Warren Road. About 60 homes were under evacuation orders, while another 40 were considered potentially threatened by the flames.

A care and reception center was established at a high school in Hemet, California.

No injuries have been reported. It is unclear what ignited the blaze.
